If you want to meet someone who is so passionate about performing well in IIT JEE that despite getting a decent rank he took the exam again, then meet Rajdeep Singh. Hailing from Bhatinda in Punjab, Singh has scored an AIR 225 in IIT JEE this year. However, this is not his first attempt. He had managed to score a rank of 1400 last year but he was not satisfied. "I would have got admission in IIT last year too but I wanted to prove myself that I could do better. Hence, I worked harder and finally have got a decent rank."
Speaking about how difficult it is for Science students to study for CBSE boards as well as engineering entrances, Singh said, "It is very tough as the syllabus for both CBSE and JEE is very different. The way how you prepare for both these exams is also very different." He scored 86% in CBSE Class XII exams last year.
Talk about his success mantra, he gives all the credit of his success to his teachers in both school and Career Point. "I always paid attention to what my teachers said and discussed all my problems with them. My teachers have a huge hand behind my success." Besides teachers, he said that one has to work very hard to achieve success. The best way to study is chalk a schedule and stick to it. One should study regularly and get all their doubts resolved as and when it comes. He believes that all work and no play can make you dull and hence he says one should take breaks in between. Besides studying, Singh endorses practice tests to perform well. The more you practice, the better will be your results. He also said one should be dedicated as there is no shortcut to success.
When asked about what books he referred to, he swears by DC Pandey and H.C. Verma. He also believes that the study material provided by the coaching institutes is also very useful in getting a good score. However, he believes that until and unless one is not dedicated enough he can never get admission in IITs.
Hoping to get admission in his favourite IIT Bombay, Singh wants to pursue electronics and communication engineering. He sees himself as a successful engineer one day, making meaningful contributions to the society.
