A uniform disc of mass M, radius R is moving towards right with velocity v & having angular velocity w about the axis perpendicular to plane of disc passing through centre of disc. Suddenly top point gets fixed. What is the angular velocity of disc about new rotation axis?

the linear velocity of the lower end of the disc(in fact, that of all the points of disc) will remain constant. But the disc will perform rotational motion about the top. The angular velocity can be calculated by using formula w=v/R where v is linear velocity of disc and R is distance of respective point from centre of the disc.
