The product of the slopes of the lines parallel to x-axis and y-axis is not equal to (-1).Why?

    The slope of the line parellel to x-axis is considered to be 0. The slope of the line parellel to y-axis is not defined or infinity. Their product is not obviously ‘-1’. That’s it!

    if m1m2=-1 ,then lines are perpendicular to each other,

    but,if lines are perpendicular to each other then it is not necessary that m1m2=-1.

    because, another condition of perpedicularity is that m1=0&m2=1/0.
