I have dropped a year to prepare for IIT-JEE 2010. I would be joining a coaching institute by the beginning of July. I am ready to use all my strength and do all the hard work it requires. Please, suggest me how to start with it and utilize the remaining time in the best possible way!!

I don’t think it’s a good idea to drop one year for JEE because the competition is too high and nothing is guaranteed despite the amount of hard work that you are willing to put in. Instead try to broaden your chances by considering other entrance exams as well. Also, you should definitely consider studying abroad. You can get into some of the top colleges abroad ( some of them better than the top colleges here in India) by taking SAT, an exam which is definitely much easier than any of the engineering entrance tests conducted in India. Just spare a thought on this and plan your career.

well i was selecte in EML of IITJEE 09, with a rank of E23000, further i m determined towards studying in IIT . i m goin to take a drop this year, and try out for a good rank in iitjee10. i m goin to join VIBRANT academy kota. last time i studied limited portion and got satisfactory results… my percentage of right questions out of the total questions attempted was quite good. out of 48 questions attempted i got 40 right. this time i m gonna increase my range of topics and would definately try to cover all topics… I NEED SUGGESTIONS REGARDING TIME MANAGEMENT, SOME GOOD RESOURCES WHICH WOULD HELP ME IN ACHIEVING A RANK IN TOP 100, AND OF COURSE THE VARIOUS DO’s AND DON’TS WHICH SHOULD B FOLLWED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
I also fall in the same category; I did get a rank(6000) but i don’t think I will get any desired stream?? I am thinking about trying once more although my parents are reluctant to agree ?? I think I can get mechanical or civil at BITS pilani. Pls comment???
